Am I a Scammer? -and the truth to Trade Glitches
This was a question posed to me today by fellow player
(no names, please) who called me a scammer, and posed
some rather unfair "evidence" against me.
1. HE offered the trade (Joseph's whip, around 89m,
and bandos boots) for my bandos chestplate.
2. When I tried to trade back, HE said he vidded it
and I was going to need luck with the client staff.
3. He said he would IP ban me. If he didn't have
mod+ priveliges, I don't see how this is possible.
Well everybody, I AM NOT A SCAMMER. A scammer is "somebody
who exploits an unwitting person(s) for self-gain" aka.
making someone pay to much ON PURPOSE. In this case,
the player literally "scammed himself". Not my problem.
Another issue needing to be addressed is the trade glitch.
To to popular belief, if you lose an item to a trade
glitch, then most likely the other person lost his/her
items too. THE OTHER PERSON DOES NOT BENEFIT AT ALL BY
TRADE GLITCHES. This happens constantly in other private
servers (most notably Quarterx) where it happens almost
continuously, making trading unsafe.
Trading glitches are easily fixed by offering a worthless
item (like 1gp) FIRST, so if the trade glitch occurs, you lose
a mere 1 gp. If you are at all grieved by the loss of 1gp,
remember: you can get 250,000 more at the general stall at
Edgeville. 99.99% of the time, the trade glitch occurs at the
START of the trade, so offer 1 gp and wait; if no glitch, then
it is safe to trade.
Thanks for reading, and goodnight (it's almost 12 here)

REPLY TO RUYUK'S COMMENT-WHAT REALLY HAPPENED
Some guy was trying to buy a Bandos Chestplate from me, and
offered 90m and a Bandos Boots. I told him that wasn't enough,
and that was true. 150m (combined cost of the two items) wasn't
the Bandos Chestplate price. I said no. Then, he said he'd give
me a Joseph's Whip as well. My "virtual" eyes lit up, and we
completed the trade. About 30 seconds later, the guy said that he
looked up the prices and wanted his whip back, and when I said no,
he called me a scammer, hence the article. He ranted for about
five minutes, and then offered to trade the chestplate along with an
AGS back for the j whip. I was getting annoyed at him, so opened up
trade. We put up our stuff, then he declined and said he had it on
video, blah blah blah (read above if you havn't already).

That guy was either trying to scare you or he really does have proof, of something. You were unclear on what happened exactly.
Also, thanks for sharing about trade glitches.
